70-Year-Old Man Struck and Injured by Car near the Civic Center Park
VISTA, CA (March 30, 2018) – On Friday night, a 70-year-old man was critically injured in a pedestrian collision at the Civic Center Drive and Eucalyptus Avenue intersection.
According to deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the victim was crossing in an unmarked area of the street around 9:45 PM, when a Honda Civic struck him. The driver, a 47-year-old woman remained at the scene and cooperated with officials.
The SDSO deputies and Vista Fire Department medics responded to the scene of the accident. They transported the injured man to the Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for treatment.
Investigators are unsure whether or not the use of drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident, and wait for toxicology results. No other information is available at this time.
