2 Dead in San Bernardino Car Collision on Fairview Road
NEWBERRY SPRINGS, CA (April 26, 2020) – Late Saturday morning, Virginio Ponce and Russel Ambrose died in a car collision on Fairview Road.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the incident took place in Newberry Springs near Barstow in San Bernardino. Meanwhile, official reports revealed that the deadly car collision occurred on Fairview Road and Harvard Road intersection at around 10:47 a.m. on April 25.
According to reports, 58-year-old Russel Ambrose was driving a Jeep Wrangler east on Fairview Road. However, the Jeep crashed with a Polaris Ranger traveling south on Harvard Road.
The authorities revealed that 47-year-old Virginio Ponce sat in the front passenger of the Razor when the collision happened. Due to the impact, Ponce suffered fatal injuries.
Meanwhile, paramedics airlifted Russel Ambrose to St. Mary Medical Center with serious injuries. Unfortunately, Ambrose died while undergoing treatment.
Further details about the collision remain unavailable. Thus, the CHP’s Barstow office is intensifying the ongoing investigation to identify the cause of the collision.
