Good Samaritans and First Responders Rescue Two from Fiery Head-On Collision in Holland
Holland, TX (November 16, 2024) On Wednesday morning, 2 people were hurt after a fiery 2-vehicle crash on FM-2268.
According to the Holland Volunteer Fire Department, the head-on collision happened at about 7:33 a.m. near Romberg.
Reports say that a community of Good Samaritans joined forces with multiple emergency departments to rescue two individuals from the fiery crash.
Authorities reported that the department responded to the crash around 7:33 a.m. on FM-2268, approximately half a mile west of the Romberg intersection.
Officials say that the collision involved two vehicles. One of the vehicles caught fire, trapping its sole occupant. Passersby quickly pulled the individual from the burning vehicle.
Moreover, the second vehicle also had one occupant trapped inside. With the help of several citizens, the person was safely extricated. Firefighters brought the flames under control, preventing further hazards at the scene.
Both victims were transported to the hospital—one by ambulance and the other by airlift. Responding agencies included the Holland Police Department, Salado Police Department, Bell County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Salado Volunteer Fire Department, and Temple EMS.
