Violent 2-Vehicle Crash on 44th Street Led to Fatality [Joplin, MO]

Joplin, MO (September 27, 2024) On Wednesday evening, a woman died after a tragic 2-vehicle crash on 44th Street.

According to Joplin police, the fatal collision happened at about 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of 44th Street and Main Street.

Reports confirms that a female passenger on a Harley motorcycle was killed in a crash on Wednesday evening.

Following the crash, authorities closed the southbound lanes of Main Street at 43rd Street, though the northbound lanes remained open.

The Joplin Police Major Crash Team is currently investigating the collision between the motorcycle and an SUV.

At the scene, the Harley motorcycle was observed in the middle of South Main, while the SUV was parked on the west side of Main at 44th.

The extent of injuries to those involved has not been disclosed, but nearby residents reported hearing numerous sirens initially.
