1 Person Dead in Fresno Auto Accident on Highway 180 near Armstrong Avenue

FRESNO, CA (November 5, 2023) – Saturday morning, authorities arrested Vikash Kumar after a fatal wrong-way crash on Highway 180 near Armstrong Avenue.

The incident happened at around 12:25 a.m. on Highway 180, east of Armstrong Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, an eastbound 2023 Honda traveling in the westbound lanes attempted to make a U-turn to correct his wrong-way direction of travel but collided with a 2016 Buick Enclave.

Moreover, officers confirmed that a male passenger of the Honda died at the scene. Moreover, officers confirmed that the 33-year-old driver of the Buick and his 26-year-old female passenger refused to be transported and preferred to seek their medical attention.

Furthermore, paramedics transported the driver of the Honda, 30-year-old Kumar of Fresno, with major injuries. Then, officers arrested Kumar on suspicion of felony vehicular manslaughter while driving under the influence of alcohol.
