Terry Patten and Victoria Thomas in Two-Car Crash near Highway 500
VANCOUVER, WA (March 19, 2018) – On Monday afternoon around 4 PM, a woman was hospitalized after being rear-ended on the 205 Freeway near Highway 500.
According to reports, 24-year-old Victoria Thomas from Battleground was driving northbound on Interstate 205, when she slowed down for the traffic ahead of her. Terry J Patten, 48, of Portland was also headed northbound, and failed to slow down in time, crashing into the back of Thomas’ car.
Thomas suffered injuries and was taken Salmon Creek Medical Center for treatment. Her condition has not been disclosed at this time. Patten wasn’t injured in the collision, and was cited for following too closely.
The woman’s vehicle was totaled from the impact of the collision, and had to be towed from the scene.
Paying attention to the road ahead and keeping a safe distance from the vehicles in front of you is extremely important in avoiding car accidents. Following too close doesn’t leave enough reaction time if the car were to slow down or stop suddenly.
