Victor Herrera Killed in Car Crash on 580 Freeway
Livermore, CA (June o4, 2020) – On Thursday afternoon, police temporarily shut down roadways following a fatal crash on Interstate 580 that killed Victor Herrera.
The crash occurred at around 4 p.m. on June 4. Dispatched officers arrived and located three sprawled vehicles blocking the roadways.
According to reports, the deadly collision involved three vehicles.
Herrera, 19, drove a 2000 Honda Accord in the first lane of I-580 when traffic in front of him stopped.
Unfortunately, he could not brake in time, and collided into the back of a 2013 GMC Terrain at 65 mph.
This caused a chain-reaction, and a total of three vehicles became involved.
First responders later pronounced Herrera dead at the scene.
Moreover, the three other drivers sustained injuries at the scene, but their current condition is unknown.
As a result, the left and center lanes were blocked. Moreover, no other information has been released to those involved. Further investigation is ongoing.
