Speeding SUV Crashes Guardrail on 215 Freeway at Placentia Avenue, Complaints of Pain Reported
PERRIS, CA (March 2, 2019) – Two people were hurt following a car accident early Saturday morning in Perris, CHP officials said.
The crash happened around 2:14 a.m. on southbound 215 Freeway at Placentia Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a blue SUV was driving recklessly at the time of the accident. The SUV then crashed into a 50 feet guardrail in the center divider. Debris were strewn in all of the lanes.
A female passenger, a 70-year-old Elizabeth Espino, sustained a laceration to her head and complained of neck pain. The male driver, a 77-year-old Victor Espino, complained of leg pain. Both patients were taken to a hospital for proper treatment.
The guardrail was damaged from the crash and Caltrans was called to check.
Two freeway lanes were blocked until around 2:46 a.m. while evidence from the scene was collected and photographed.
The full circumstances of the collision remain under investigation.
