44-Year-Old Reding Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident near Branstetter Lane
REDDING, CA (February 20, 2018) – The man who was killed last month in a pedestrian collision on Highway 273 has been identified by officials.
The 44-year-old man from Redding was identified by the Shasta County Coroner’s office as Victor Becerra Salazar. He was reportedly wearing dark clothing and walking on Highway 273 near Branstetter Lane at around 7:00 PM, when he was hit by a vehicle.
The vehicle is believed to be a 2003 Hyundai Elantra that was driving northbound at the time. Police stated that Salazar was walking outside a marked crosswalk at when he was hit. The name of the driver has not yet been released to the public.
