1 Person Dead in Seal Beach DUI Accident on Seal Beach Boulevard near North Gate Road

SEAL BEACH, CA (March 6, 2024) – Monday morning, authorities arrested Victor Alfonso Campos Carranza after a fatal DUI crash on Seal Beach Boulevard.

The incident happened at around 2:00 a.m. on Seal Beach Boulevard, south of North Gate Road.

According to the Seal Beach Police Department, a vehicle crashed into a pole, ejecting a female passenger into the roadway.

Moreover, responders pronounced the ejected passenger, dead at the scene.

Furthermore, paramedics transported the driver of the vehicle, identified as 39-year-old Carranza, to a hospital with unknown injuries. Then, authorities arrested Campos Carranza for felony DUI causing bodily injury and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

Meanwhile, the crash closed Seal Beach Boulevard at Old Ranch Parkway and Golden Rain Road and a part of the I-405 offramps at the Seal Beach Boulevard exit.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
