Vicenta Martinez Fatally Struck in H Street Pedestrian Accident [Bakersfield, CA]

Bakersfield, CA (April 19, 2022) On Saturday, 70-year-old Vicenta Martinez was killed in a pedestrian accident on H Street.

The Bakersfield Police Department (BPD) says the fatal collision happened around 8 p.m. at the intersection with Isil Avenue.

Officers found Martinez on the ground with serious injuries due to the crash.

Paramedics took her to a nearby hospital where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.

Moreover, reports say that the pedestrian crossed the street outside a marked crosswalk where a vehicle hit her.

Police are investigating the incident and have ruled out impairment as a cause for the crash.
