1 Dead in Venice Pedestrian Crash on Venice Boulevard
VENICE, CA (February 10, 2020) – Veteran actor Orson Bean, 91, died in a pedestrian crash on Venice Boulevard on February 7.
According to Los Angeles police, Orson was walking in the area of Venice Boulevard and Shell Avenue when he got clipped by one vehicle and fell. A concerned citizen tried to warn another driver, but that driver also hit the pedestrian. The police confirmed that the second crash killed Orson Bean, and that the two drivers remained at the scene.
“The car coming westbound did not see him, clipped him, and he went down,” stated Los Angeles Police Department Capt. Brian Wendling. “A second vehicle was coming up, was distracted by people trying to slow him down, then a second traffic collision occurred, and that one was fatal.”
According to investigators, Bean came from between two vehicles when he crossed the street and was not noticed by the drivers.
The incident occurred in front of the Pacific Resident Theatre.
Our deepest regrets and thoughts are with the loved ones of Orson Bean.
