Vernon Ross Airlifted after Crash on South State Street and Laws Avenue in Ukiah

Ukiah, CA (November 16, 2022) – Wednesday evening, 68-year-old Vernon Ross, Ukiah resident, sustained severe injuries in a crash on South State Street and Laws Avenue.

The crash happened at around 5:26 p.m. on November 16. 

CHP said a 2014 Honda Accord driven by 31-year-old Ukiah resident Janely Martinez hit the man on a motorized wheelchair, later identified as Vernon Ross.

EMS transported Ross to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital via air ambulance for major injuries.

Investigators are still looking into the accident at this time. They did not say if alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision.

Further investigation into this crash is ongoing.
