2 Hurt in Fillmore Car Accident on Highway 126
FILLMORE, CA (October 22, 2019) – A car accident on Highway 26 involved a Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy on October 19.
Authorities received reports of the crash about 9:05 p.m. on Highway 26, known as Ventura Street, at the crossing with C Street.
“One of our deputies pulled out onto Highway 126 on a green light. However, a pickup truck that ran a red light then hit the deputy,” Capt. Eric Buschow revealed.
Buschow added that the two drivers appeared to be fine. However, responders still evaluated them at the scene for complaints of pain.
Buschow also revealed that there are significant damages to the patrol vehicle and all of its airbags deployed.
The CHP will handle the crash investigation.
