Sedan and Van Involved in Crash on Highway 101 in Ventura, Injuries and Damage Reported
VENTURA, CA (May 16, 2019) – Two people were injured following a rear-end crash Thursday evening in Ventura.
The crash took place at 8:42 p.m. on southbound Highway 101, just North of Highway 33.
Arriving crews located a Toyota Corolla with major front-end damage and an express van with rear-end damage. One of the drivers was trapped inside the vehicle and crews immediately worked to free him using hydraulic tools.
The trapped patient suffered moderate injuries and was rushed to Ventura County Medical Center. A second patient suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local trauma center.
All lanes of southbound Highway 101 were temporarily blocked as crews worked on the scene.
It is unknown if speed, drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
