Leonardo Cellura Dies in Fatal Bicycle Accident on Merriewood Drive
Lafayette, CA (July 30, 2020)– On Tuesday afternoon, a delivery vehicle fatally struck 10-year-old Leonardo Cellura on Merriewood Drive.
Moreover, the tragic incident happened on July 28 on Merriewood Drive near the Lafayette Community Park at about 12:48 p.m.
Subsequently, officers responded to the scene and reported that a delivery vehicle and a bicycle were involved in the collision.
According to the report, a 10-year-old boy was riding a bicycle before the incident. When for unknown reasons, the driver of the delivery vehicle later hit him.
The boy was taken to the hospital; however, he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
Meanwhile, the driver of the delivery vehicle stayed on the scene where police investigated.
