WSP Arrests DUI Driver in Multi-Vehicle Collision near Mercer Street
Seattle, WA (September 5, 2023) Early Monday morning, a massive vehicle crash on Interstate 5 left 7 people hurt and hospitalized.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the multi-vehicle collision happened around 5:15 a.m. on southbound Interstate 5, south of Mercer Street.
Reports say that a Hyundai Veloster, driven by a 36-year-old Mill Creek woman, collided with a Toyota Highlander with 5 Colorado residents inside head-on. Then, a big rig struck the Toyota.
Authorities say that the Mill Creek Woman, either interstate going the wrong way or if she made a U-turn on the roadway, officials say that the Hyundai spun out before the incident.
Officials say that a total of 7 people were treated, 6 of which were transported Harborview Medical Center. Seattle Fire Department (SFD) say that all 7 people are in stable condition as of Monday afternoon.
Meanwhile, officials arrested the Mill Creek woman for facing charges of DUI and vehicular assault.
