One Dead and Three Injured in Los Banos Accident on Cotton Gin Road
LOS BANOS, CA (December 27, 2017) – A fatal accident took place on Cotton Gin Road near Holstein Road, around 10:30 PM on Wednesday night.
The California Highway Patrol reports that a 2014 Dodge Charger was going eastbound on the road, when the driver, 25-year-old Vanessa Clarissa Robledo Pina turned left. The car then swerved and ended in the field near the side of the road.
The car turned over, and all four occupants of the Dodge were ejected. These included passenger Cody Ryan Monk, 28 of Dos Palos, and two small children.
Monk sustained minor injuries and was taken to Memorial Hospital in Modesto. The children, 3-year-old Vivian Robledo and 4-year-old Steven Robledo had critical injuries and were transported to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera for medical treatment.
CHP said that the driver and male passenger were wearing seat belts, while the children sitting in the backseat weren’t properly restrained.
The cause of the accident is still unknown and under investigation.
