Woman Dies when Her Car Collides with Big Rig at Tippecanoe Avenue and Orange Show Road
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (December 30, 2019) – A woman died after her car collided with a big rig late Monday evening in San Bernardino.
The fatal crash happened around 11:20 p.m. at Tippecanoe Avenue and Orange Show Road.
According to police, a 32-year-old Vanessa Garcia-Barbarin was driving a Volkswagen sedan north toward the intersection. At the same time, a Freightliner tractor-trailer was heading west.
As the two vehicles entered the intersection, they collided.
As a result, Barbarin died at the scene.
The driver of the big rig, 52-year-old Sergio Medina of San Bernardino, was unharmed.
Authorities said it does not appear Medina was driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The crash remained under investigation.
