Vanessa Arce Fatally Struck Riding Wheelchair at Monterey Highway Crossing
San Jose, CA (April 03, 2021) – On Thursday, Vanessa Arce, 37, died in a hit-and-run crash on Monterey Highway while on her wheelchair.
The fatal accident happened minutes after 11:30 p.m. near Curtner Avenue, on April 1.
Apparently, the victim was crossing the highway in her wheelchair when she was struck by a southbound vehicle.
Right away, responders took the unidentified woman to the hospital, where she died.
Authorities are searching for the driver of a white Mercedes sedan that fled the scene after hitting the woman in wheelchair.
