59-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Car at North Perris Boulevard
PERRIS, CA (May 31, 2018) – On Thursday night, a person was seriously injured in a pedestrian collision on Ramona Expressway, according to authorities.
The crash occurred at around 8:50 PM in the area of Ramona Expressway and North Perris Boulevard. For reasons now yet confirmed by officials, the 59-year-old unidentified pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection and sustained major injuries.
Firefighters and paramedics arrived at the scene, and found the man in grave condition. They transported the victim by ambulance to the Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley, where he was later pronounced dead. The patient’s identity and condition were not immediately disclosed to the public, pending notification to his family.
The driver remained at the scene and called 911 immediately after the collision. Authorities are unclear of the cause at this time, but have ruled out drugs and alcohol as contributing factors for the driver. No other information is avaialble.
