Van Driver Sustains Injuries in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Clovis Avenue [Fresno, CA]

Officers Respond to Rear-End Collision Near Highway 99

Fresno, CA (July 29, 2022) – On Friday morning, a van driver sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on Clovis Avenue near Highway 99.

According to the investigators, a van was stopped at a red light on Clovis Avenue when a sweeper truck rear-ended the vehicle. The truck continued driving through a utility pole which brought down some of the power lines into the roadway.

The driver of the sweeper truck told the investigators that he lost consciousness, admitting he fell asleep behind the wheel causing the collision.

Moreover, another driver drove around the scene, through the downed wires pulling down another utility pole.

As a result, additional wires fell on four other vehicles.

Officers say the traffic incident involved seven vehicles.

The van driver sustained injuries from the collision.

Meanwhile, officers are investigating the cause of the collision near Highway 99.
