45-Year-Old Pauma Valley Motorcyclist Fatally Injured in Crash on West Tribal Road
VALLEY CENTER, CA (April 25, 2018) – A 45-year-old Pauma Valley man lost his life in a motorcycle collision near State Route 76, early Wednesday night.
In a statement released by the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 6:00 PM. A silver Honda motorcycle, driven by the Pauma Valley man, was heading northbound on Valley Center Road when he slammed into a silver Toyota Tacoma that was stopped at an intersection.
The Honda bike was behind the Tacoma as they were both headed in the same direction on Valley Center Road, approaching West Tribal Road intersection, just a quarter mile south of the 76. When the driver of the Tacoma, a 26-year-old woman from Valley Center, reached the intersection, she stopped to prepare for a left turn. The motorcycle failed to slow down as he was nearing the intersection and rear-ended the vehicle.
The motorcyclist sustained critical injuries and succumbed to them at the scene of the crash. The female driver was reportedly unharmed in the collision. Authorities also closed the affected areas until 10:30 PM to perform a thorough investigation. Both of the drivers’ identities are still undisclosed as the investigators try to determine the cause of the accident.
