Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Columbus Parkway and North Ascot Parkway Intersection
VALLEJO, CA (January 10, 2018) – A male motorcycle rider was struck and killed after running a red light on Wednesday afternoon around 4:04 PM.
According to the police, the motorcyclist was driving at high speeds, when he ran a red light and hit another vehicle. He was going eastbound on Columbus Parkway and hit the right rear of a 2014 Dodge Durano that was making a legal left turn from Columbus Pkwy to southbound North Ascot Pkwy.
The victim was identified as a black male, and the motorcycle was reported to be stolen out of Benicia. He sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Durango drive remained uninjured.
The motorcyclist’s identity has not yet been released, while authorities inform his family.
