Lucerne Semi-Truck Crash Kills Motorcyclist Ronald Matusick, Involves Ryan Hicks
Lucerne, CA (June 13, 2021) – On Friday, Ronald Matusick, 70, of Vacaville died, while 50-year-old Ryan Hicks of Stockton was involved in Highway 20 motorcycle crash.
The fatal big rig and motorcycle accident took place at 12:50 p.m. east of Rosemont Drive.
Officers said the Vacaville man was riding a 2009 Harley-Davidson westbound on the freeway.
At the same time, Hicks was eastbound in a 2020 International truck-tractor and trailer combination.
Both vehicles were approaching each other within their respective lanes. Suddenly, the motorcyclist entered the opposing lane and crashed with Hick’s truck and trailer.
Immediately, rescuers transported the motorcyclist to Sutter Lakeside Hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
Officers said Hicks was not injured in the accident.
The authorities said said Hicks and the motorcyclist were using their safety equipment at the time of crash.
Meanwhile, neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be factors in the fatal incident.
The deadly Lucerne accident remains under investigation.
