Car Pinned Under Big Rig on 80 Freeway in Vacaville, Complaint of Pain Reported
VACAVILLE, CA (November 30, 2018) – One person was hurt following a traffic collision between a big rig and a sedan Friday evening in Vacaville.
The collision happened around 9:17 p.m. on eastbound 80 Freeway at Leisure Town Road off-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a maroon Toyota Corolla was pinned underneath a tanker truck loaded with coconut oil. Several other vehicles pulled over to assist.
While the cause of the crash has not yet been determined, an off-duty fire crew was on the scene and found one occupant who complained of pain to the chest as a result of the accident.
An ambulance unit was dispatched to the scene and took the patient to a hospital for proper treatment.
The trailer and rear axle of the big rig was bent from the crash. Towing services were requested to remove both vehicles from the freeway.
No additional information was provided at this time. The specific cause of the crash and who may be at fault remain under investigation.
