Uvelyn Nunez-Jaramillo Arrested for DUI after San Diego Pedestrian Crash
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 27, 2019) – The police arrested a female driver following a suspected DUI hit-and-run crash on Black Mountain Road Sunday morning.
The San Diego police officers said the incident occurred at around 7:07 a.m. near Carmel Mountain Road. The medics found an unconscious woman with facial injuries when they arrived at the scene.
An investigation showed that a gold-colored 2006 Nissan Sentra was southbound in the 13700 block of Black Mountain Road when it drifted to the right. The car then went onto a sidewalk and damaged a fence. Afterward, it struck a pedestrian who is a woman in her 30s.
Several passersby stopped to render aid. The medics transported the pedestrian to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla with critical injuries.
The car subsequently traveled a short distance down the street. It also struck a water line. When it came to a stop, the driver exited the vehicle and walked away.
The detectives contacted the driver identified as Uvelyn Nunez-Jaramillo. They arrested her when she returned to the scene. They booked her in the Las Colinas Women’s Detention Facility. Her charges include suspicion of felony driving under the influence and felony hit-and-run.
However, the officers released Nunez-Jaramillo’s two passengers after interviewing him.
