Pickup Truck and Big Rig Involved in Crash with Utility Pole on Highway 20 in Upper Lake
UPPER LAKE, CA (February 20, 2019) – One person was airlifted after a pickup truck hit a utility pole Wednesday afternoon in Upper Lake.
The crash happened around 1:15 p.m. on Highway 20 at Midlake Road.
Initial reports indicated a Ford pickup truck had hit a telephone pole, and that a big rig was also involved. Utility lines were reportedly down.
Several emergency vehicles, along with AT&T and Pacific Gas and Electric trucks, responded to the scene.
One patient was flown to Santa Rosa for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The crash caused a hard closure of Highway 20 from Potter Valley in Mendocino County to the junction of Highway 20 and Highway 29 in Upper Lake.
PG&E’s online outage center also reported a small outage affecting 17 customers in the area, which began at the same time as the crash.
