Multiple Injuries Reported in Bastrop County Multi-Vehicle Accident on State Highway 21
BASTROP COUNTY, TX (March 26, 2024) – Friday afternoon, Ulises Rodriguez Montoya died in a horrific 3-vehicle crash on State Highway 21.
The incident happened at around 2:00 p.m. on State Highway 21.
According to reports, a cement truck veered for still unknown reasons and struck a school bus. Then, the force of the crash pushed the school bus to rollover. Also, a Dodge Charger rear-ended the bus.
Moreover, responders confirmed that a 5-year-old student, identified as Montoya, and the driver of the Dodge Charger, died in the crash. Then, paramedics airlifted four people with critical injuries, while six more people who sustained potentially serious injuries were transported by ambulance to a hospital for treatment. Also, an ambulance bus transported ten more people to a children’s hospital with minor injuries.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
