1 Dead in Mountain Pass Accident on 15 Freeway
MOUNTAIN PASS, CA (July 26, 2020) – Friday afternoon, Tyrese Arnold died while others sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on 15 Freeway.
The incident occurred on July 24th at around 2:35 p.m. along the 15 Freeway between Bailey and Cima Roads, around 20 miles from Primm.
When the emergency crews arrived, they located multiple vehicles that had crashed. Two of these vehicles rolled over. A white pickup truck rolled onto the shoulder while the other vehicle rolled over and stopped in the center divider. There were occupants thrown off from the vehicle while children sustained injuries.
The San Bernardino County Fire along with Clark County Fire both came to the scene. Meanwhile, firefighters declared 21-year-old Tyrese Arnold of Bakersfield dead at the scene. According to reports, Arnold drove a 2007 Toyota Camry north on 15 Freeway. However, he hit the rear of the Toyota Tacoma.
Furthermore, the authorities dispatched a helicopter to transport a person with life-threatening injuries.
The CHP closed to traffic to let the helicopter safely land on the freeway. Moreover, several ground ambulances came and took 3-4 other people to area hospitals.
By 4:09 p.m., the officials issued a SigAlert since only one lane remained open in both north and south
