Sunnyvale Fatal Collision Results in Fatality
Sunnyvale, CA (May 23, 2023) – On Monday, Tyler Rasay, 28, of South San Francisco, Paul Dennig Jr., 24, of Mountain View, and another were killed in a Highway 101 multi-vehicle collision.
Officers said that during the early-morning hours, a Ford pickup truck driver was northbound on the freeway when he lost control of the vehicle with crashed into the center divider south of the Fair Oaks Avenue exit.
The incident resulted in a domino effect wherein five more vehicles crashed into the vehicles on the northbound freeway.
Three drivers involved in the collision were lucky to get out of their cars when another vehicle crashed. Pedestrians were struck wherein two of them were thrown into the southbound side of the highway.
Rasay and Dennig were among the three pedestrians who died at the scene.
The paramedics rushed at least three other people to the Stanford Medical Center with unknown injuries.
Officers are investigating.
