WSP Trooper Hurt in Spokane Crash on 90 Freeway

 
SPOKANE, WA (June 16, 2020) – Early Sunday morning, Tyler Howland sustained injuries in an auto accident on 90 Freeway, west of downtown Spokane.
 
The incident happened just after 5:30 a.m. west on Highway 195 interchange on 90 Freeway. According to reports, a WSP patrol car stopped on the right shoulder. However, an eastbound vehicle on 90 Freeway struck the marked patrol car.
 
As a result, 28-year-old Tyler G. Howland, who drove the WSP vehicle, suffered injuries in the crash. Responders then took them to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center.
 
The state financial records revealed that Howland is a WSP state trooper.
 
39-year-old Ronald L. Umland of Warden drove the car that hit the vehicle.
 
The WSP currently investigate the car crash.
 
Meanwhile, reports revealed that Tyler Howland wore his seatbelt when the crash occurred.
 
Due to the crash, the police closed all lanes of 90 Freeway east. Meanwhile, the westbound lanes were opened late Sunday morning.
