1 Dead in Anaheim DUI Accident on 91 Freeway near Brookhurst Avenue
ANAHEIM, CA (January 26, 2022) – Sunday, authorities arrested Tyler Christian Williams after a fatal crash on 91 Freeway.
The incident happened on 91 Freeway and Brookhurst Street. According to reports, Williams drove a 2013 Lincoln west on the 91 Freeway. Then, he crashed into a 2004 Ford which caused the Ford to overturn. As Williams continued west, he crashed into a 2012 Toyota.
As a result, the Ford driver suffered major injuries and required hospitalization. However, the Ford driver later succumbed to injuries. Meanwhile, Tyler Christian Williams and the Toyota driver suffered no injuries.
Reports stated that Williams drove with a blood-alcohol level of .19, more than twice the legal limit.
As a result, authorities charged Tyler Christian Williams with the following: felony counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit of .08 percent, driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury, driving with a blood-alcohol level above .08 percent causing injury and hit-and-run with a permanent and serious injury. They also charged him with a misdemeanor for driving on a suspended license.
Also, Williams faces sentencing enhancements for inflicting great bodily injury on another victim who survived.
