Rider Dies after Crashing into Tow Truck on Highway 84 in Woodside
WOODSIDE, CA (July 19, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed following a traffic collision Friday afternoon in Woodside.
The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased Saturday as Tyler Carlberg, 27, of Santa Clara.
Around 4:45 p.m., Carlberg collided with a tow truck on Highway 84, about a half mile West of Portola Road. As a result, he suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The highway was closed for several hours while the investigation was being conducted. Motorists were advised to use alternate routes.
Authorities have not released any further details surrounding the crash, and its cause is still under investigation. An official police report will be released when the investigation is complete.
