Three Vehicles Involved in Fatal Crash near Cramer Road
AUBURN, CA (December 4, 2019) – The authorities identified Tyler Burk as the man killed in a crash on Highway 49 on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Cramer Road at approximately 1:00 PM.
Placer County sheriff’s officials said the 21-year-old Auburn man ‘s Volkswagen was traveling recklessly at very high speeds when suddenly swerved from northbound into the southbound lanes of the highway hitting the left rear corner of a Ford F1-50 pickup truck. The impact caused the Volkswagen to swerve into the path of an Acura RDX.
Burk was pronounced dead at the scene by fire personnel.
Paramedics transported the driver of the Acura, identified as a 73-year-old Grass Valley man, to a hospital with major injuries. However, the Ford F-150 driver did not suffer.
Officials released the possibility that Burk may have suffered a medical event prior to the accident. However, an investigation is ongoing.
