Suspect Arrested for DUI and Hit-and-Run Crash at East Appleway Avenue in Spokane Valley
Spokane Valley, WA (October 18, 2024) On Wednesday afternoon, 29-year-old Tyler Adams was arrested in a horrific crash on East Appleway Avenue that resulted in injuries.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), that hit-and-run accident happened at the intersection of East Appleway Avenue and North Corbin Road.
Reports say that Adams ran a red light and collided with another vehicle on the passenger side, causing it to flip. Adams then fled the scene.
Witnesses followed Adams to South Steen Road near the Appleway trail and reported his location to deputies. Officers responded to both the crash site and the area where witnesses had tracked the suspect.
When deputies apprehended Adams, he appeared emotional and admitted fault. His bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and the smell of alcohol led officers to believe he was intoxicated.
The victim sustained minor injuries and received medical attention at the scene. Adams, who complained of pain, was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
After being cleared by medical personnel, Adams was booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of felony hit-and-run and driving under the influence (DUI).
Driving Isn’t Just About You—It’s About All of Us
When we drive, we are all part of a larger community of people who share the road. We owe it to each other to drive responsibly, be alert, and respect the rights of others. Safe driving doesn’t just protect you—it protects your family, your neighbors, and even strangers on the road.
Together, we can reduce the number of traffic collisions like the Fair Oaks Avenue accident and make our roads safer for everyone. Let’s drive with care, stay aware, and take responsibility for our actions.
Always stay at the scene of an accident. Fleeing from a crash, especially while under the influence, can lead to severe legal consequences. Please drive responsibly and avoid impaired driving to keep everyone on the road safe.
Ensure You Receive Fair Compensation Following the Accident
Cyclists involved in accidents often suffer injuries ranging from minor to severe, including broken bones, head trauma, spinal injuries, and even fatalities. Medical bills can accumulate quickly, and without proper legal action, these expenses may fall solely on the victim. A personal injury claim can help recover the costs associated with emergency care, surgeries, physical therapy, rehabilitation, and future medical treatment. This financial support allows victims to focus on their recovery without the burden of overwhelming medical debt.
