Tyesha Tanner of Georgetown Killed in FM 486 Collision [Milam County, TX]

Milam County, TX (August 22, 2023) – On Sunday, 42-year-old Tyesha Tanner of Georgetown and a 14-year-old male passenger were killed in an FM 486 collision.

The fatal collision unfolded minutes before 10:40 a.m. approximately 2.7 miles north of Thorndale.

According to the authorities, a 2012 Kia Sorento driven by a 39-year-old Georgetown woman was southbound on FM 486. The said vehicle was stopped and was waiting for an oncoming vehicle to pass before making a left turn into a church parking lot.  

At the same time, a 2016 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by a 34-year-old Thorndale woman was southbound on the same road approaching the stopped Kia from behind. 

The Dodge Ram failed to control speed and rear-ended the Kia. 

Tyesha Tanner and a 14-year-old male passenger were in the Kia. Unfortunately, both of them died at the crash scene. 

Texas DPS is still investigating the collision.
