2 Hospitalized after Pedestrian Accident on 16th Street near Canal Street
MERCED, CA (October 11, 2019) – Two women suffered injuries in a pedestrian accident on 16th Street, Friday evening.
According to the Merced Police Department, the incident happened near Canal Street. Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle struck two women as they attempted to cross the street.
Emergency responders rushed the victims, a 70-year-old woman and a 56-year-old woman, to a hospital in Modesto. Updates on their current conditions remain unknown. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Investigators ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the collision. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
