Two Women Struck and Hurt in Hit-and-Run Crash on Ocotillo Road

Desert Hot Springs, CA (October 9, 2020) – On Friday, two women were injured in a hit-and-run crash on Ocotillo Road in Desert Hot Springs.

The incident took place at about 4:15 a.m. when two women were walking at Acoma Avenue. Just then, a Honda CR-V traveling northbound struck them, then sped off.

The victims were hospitalized in critical condition, police reported. Authorities withheld their identities.

Further, the suspect car that hit the woman was last seen traveling northbound on Ocotillo Road toward Pierson Boulevard.

“The white Honda CR-V will have front-end and front passenger-side damage with a missing passenger-side mirror,” police said.

Please call Officer Greg Elias at 760-329-2904 ext. 373 if you have further details about the incident. Anonymous tipsters can call Crime Stoppers at 760-341-STOP.

Aim high in steering, i.e. don’t make your steering adjustments based on what is directly in front of you, but rather what is down the road. If the road is winding to the right, for example, look as far into the turn as possible. This will improve your safety and make your turns smoother.
