Drunk Driver Crashed into Kent Police Patrol Car on 225th Street
KENT, WA (January 3, 2019) – A 71-year-old woman likely spent the first full night of 2019 in prison after she crashed into an officer’s car while impaired.
According to Asst. Chief Jarod Kasner with Kent Police, the woman was driving on 225th Street and 116th Avenue SE shortly before 7 p.m. when she crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed into the patrol car.
Luckily, no one sustained injuries in the incident.
The woman appeared to be driving under the influence and there was an open liquor container found in her vehicle, Kasner stated.
Drinking and driving should never go together. If you decide to drink, it’s best to find another way home instead of getting behind the wheel. Rely on a friend or a rideshare service to bring you home. Being impaired leads to reckless driving, thus possible car accidents.
