Damage Sustained in Collision near Borrego Salton Seaway
THERMAL, CA (February 21, 2019) – Two semi-trucks were involved in a crash on Highway 86, Thursday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 8:23 PM, near the Borrego Salton Sea Way off-ramp. Based on an initial report, a full load of spinach was spilled in the roadway. The manner of the accident was not stated in the report.
The paramedics were called for needed medical attention. They had not yet confirmed any injury sustained by the involved motorists.
The No. 2 lane was closed while the authorities responded to the scene. A clearing operation was ordered by fire officials. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident to help identify the possible contributing factors.
