Teenage Boy In Custody after Pedestrian Crash near El Nopal

SANTEE, CA (August 30, 2018) – Two pedestrians were hospitalized Thursday night after a hit-and-run crash on Molino Road. Their names and places of residence were not immediately released to the public.

According to California Highway Patrol reports, the collision happened shortly after 8:00 PM near El Nopal.

Investigators determined that three teens were involved in the incident. The suspects reportedly drove a late-model Honda sedan following an argument with a resident in the area. The car sped off, jumped a curb, struck the two women in the lanes and fled the scene.

Medics took the victims to a nearby hospital, where one was admitted to the intensive-care unit (ICU) for treatment of extensive head injuries. The other was expected to be released after treatment of unknown injuries. There is no update on either woman’s current medical condition.

One of the teens who was involved in the pedestrian collision was taken into custody a short time later and booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. He was only identified as a 16-year-old boy. The two other suspects remain at large as the investigation continues. No other information has been disclosed, as the investigation continues.
