6 Vehicles Involved in Deadly Crash on Palm Drive in Desert Hot Springs
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (September 2, 2019) – Two people were killed following a multi-vehicle crash Monday evening in Desert Hot Springs.
The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of Palm Drive and 20th Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, six vehicles were involved, some had collided head-on.
Officials arrived and located two people trapped in their vehicles with major injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, the two patients died at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported at least nine other people to hospitals for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Officials closed Palm Drive in both directions between 20th Avenue and Varner Road Monday night. They reopened it around 7:40 a.m. Tuesday.
The Desert Hot Springs Police Department is handing the investigation.
