Double Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Highway 33 in Maricopa
MARICOPA, CA (May 29, 2019) – Two men were killed following a motorcycle crash Wednesday afternoon in Maricopa, authorities said.
The fatal crash happened around 12:13 p.m. on northbound Highway 33 at Lockwood Valley Road.
According to reports, the men were riding separate motorcycles southbound on the highway when for unknown reasons they both crashed.
One of the riders ended up on the highway, while the other went about 20 feet over the side of the road.
Arriving emergency crews found the men not breathing and CPR was administered to both of them. Tragically, both did not survive and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The men were in their 40’s and 50’s, and one was from Camarillo and the other from Arizona, CHP officials said. Their names have been withheld pending family notification.
Drugs and/or alcohol are not being ruled out as factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
