Crash Involving Farm Truck on Grangeville Boulevard in Hanford Kills Two
HANFORD, CA (September 27, 2019) – Two people were killed in a crash involving a farming vehicle Friday evening in Hanford.
The crash happened just before 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of Grangeville Boulevard and 7th Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Cadillac sedan ran a stop sign while traveling down north on 7th Avenue. The farm truck traveling west on Grangeville Boulevard broadsided the sedan.
As a result, the driver of the Cadillac and the passenger both died at the scene. Their identities were not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
Meanwhile, the farm truck driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Officers say that there is a stop sign on 7th Avenue and that traffic on Grangeville Boulevard has the right of way.
A power pole also was struck, and Southern California Edison was called to investigate.
Officers did not rule out drugs and alcohol as factors in the crash.
