Driver and Passenger Dead after Crashing Car into Light Pole on Highway 99 in Lodi
LODI, CA (August 2, 2019) – Two people died following a car accident Friday morning in Lodi, authorities said.
The fatal crash happened around 7:20 a.m. on Highway 99 at Kettleman Lane.
According to the CHP, a 1970 Chevrolet Nova was traveling southbound when it drifted off the west side of the road. It then crashed into a metal light pole and a tree.
The driver, a 74-year-old woman, and her passenger, a 63-year-old man, were killed in the crash. Their names have not been released at this point.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation, but alcohol and drugs have not been ruled out as possible contributing factors.
