Afternoon 3-Car Crash on Beach Boulevard in Westminster Leaves 2 Women Dead
WESTMINSTER, CA (November 21, 2019) – Two people died following a three-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Westminster, CHP officials said.
The crash happened just after 4:00 p.m. along Beach Boulevard near Roosevelt Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a dark-colored sedan, a white SUV and a light blue coupe were involved in the crash.
Police said the SUV was traveling north on Beach Boulevard when it crossed into opposing traffic lanes and collided with the sedan. The impact pushed the sedan into an iron fence.
As a result, the female driver of the sedan died at the scene. Her passenger was taken to a hospital, but later succumbed to injuries. The identities of the victims were not immediately available.
The coupe was unable to avoid the wreck and struck the SUV. Both drivers were hospitalized in stable condition.
Authorities closed all southbound lanes on Beach Boulevard for several hours while they investigated the crash.
