2 People Fatally Injured in Accident, Rachel Hawkins Arrested
YUBA COUNTY, CA (July 24, 2018) – Early Tuesday morning, two people were killed and a woman was arrested after a DUI crash on North Beale Road. Authorities did not disclose the identities or places of residence of the deceased victims, pending notification of family members.
According to reports, the fatal collision took place on N Beale, just east of Marysville. 32-year-old Rachel Hawkins of Marysville was driving westbound in the eastbound lane of N Beale Rd in Linda when she struck a Toyota Camry.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find both occupants of the Toyota fatally injured. Hawkins sustained major injuries and was transported to the Rideout Memorial Hospital for treatment and evaluation. She was arrested for two counts of vehicular manslaughter and felony driving under the influence of drugs.
No additional information has been released to the public at this time, as officials continue to investigate the fatal incident.
