2 Women Critically Injured in Mission Hills Car Collision
MISSION HILLS, CA (March 26, 2019) – Two young women were injured in a semi-truck accident Tuesday morning on the 5 Freeway.
Officials responded to the highway collision around 8:20 AM. Authorities then arrived just north of Fernando Mission Boulevard soon after.
Reports indicate that a mid-sized sedan slammed into the rear of an 18-wheeler semi truck for unknown reasons. Moreover, the sedan got stuck underneath the trailer and sustained substantial damages as a result.
Paramedics were immediately called to the scene for needed medical attention. Two female occupants had to be extricated from the sedan due to the impact. They were eventually transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment. Their current medical status had not been disclosed.
Authorities also reported that no cargo was spilled in the accident. Furthermore, there has been no further information released regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident. An investigation is still currently ongoing to eventually determine the cause.
