La Puente Man Dies in West Covina Motorcycle Crash
West Covina, CA (August 19, 2021) – On Wednesday, a 35-year-old West Covina woman and a 40-year-old man, also from West Covina, suffered injuries in a Glendora Avenue fatal crash.
The fatal crash took place minutes after 1 a.m. near Vine Avenue.
Reports said officers on Interstate 10 Freeway spotted a Triumph motorcycle traveling more than 100 mph. They caught up to the motorcyclist, but the rider refused to pull over.
Subsequently, the motorcyclist got off the westbound freeway.
“The officers lost sight of the motorcycle on southbound Glendora Avenue near Vine Avenue,” an officer said.
The motorcycle rider ran a red light at Glendora Avenue and Merced Avenue. As a result, it collided into a Toyota Camry traveling west on Merced Avenue.
Unfortunately, the rider was ejected from the motorcycle. Officers said the deceased, 34-year-old La Puente man, was wearing a helmet during the accident.
Meanwhile, the paramedics took the West Covina woman driving the Camry and her passenger, the West Covina man, to a hospital with minor injuries.
